Error description

  • Using Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.6.0.8 to prompt the CL
    command PARM with a special value clause which supplies a
    negative number constant as the replacement value is incorrectly
    diagnosed as invalid and cannot be prompted in the CL prompter
    dialog.
    Eg.     PARM KWD(Z) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(10) SPCVAL((*ABC -1))
    PROMPT('Z')

    CL Prompter misdiagnoses a parm clause with multiple terms with
    a negative number such as PARM(XY  -1)  as invalid; failing to
    prompt for it.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.6.0.12 update.
