Abstract

BRM-MAINT INCORROUT FIXES - SEPTEMBER 2020

Error Description

Please load and apply the September 2020 PTF.

Problem Summary

It is important to keep all systems in a BRMS network at the
same level of BRMS PTFs.

Fixes included in this PTF may reference enhancements. More
information on these enhancements can be found on the BRMS wiki:
   ibm.biz/ibmi-brms

Fixes in this PTF:
1. In 7.2 and later, BRMS expected logical files are missing
from QUSRBRM after an upgrade to a new release.
2. In 7.2 and later, cloud full system recovery incorrectly sets
user *PUBLIC with *EXCLUDE authority for the directories in the
BRMS shipped QCLDIPL *LNK list.
3. In 7.2 and later, cloud and automatic virtual backups to
optical that append, may fail with messages MSGOPT2500 and
MSGOPT1321 when the backup spans multiple volumes.
4. In 7.2 and later, RSTLIBBRM may restore the wrong library if
more than 9,999,999 records exist in the history file.
5. In 7.2 and later, the sync job will not process any more
entries until the Q1ABRMNET subsystem is restarted.
6. In 7.2 and later, BRMS has been enhanced to provide SQL
services to view, order, and subset BRMS media.
7. In 7.2 and later, when restoring from a parallel backup, BRMS
incorrectly attempts to restore the *CUM before the *FULL
backup.
8. In 7.2 and later, BRMS created outfiles with the prefix
q1asav in directory '/tmp/brms' are not removed.
9. In 7.2 and later, BRMS move policy has been enhanced to
support the movement of full volumes to a new location.
10. In 7.2 and later, STRMNTBRM with parameter PRTRCYRPT(*ALL)
or PRTRCYRPT(*SAVEXCP) was enhanced to log message MSGBRM1571 in
the BRMS log with severity 0 if zero objects were not saved.
11. In 7.2 and later, WRKOBJBRM has been enhanced with a START()
parameter to specify which saved objects entries to display
first.

Problem Conclusion

Load and apply this PTF.

Note: When loading BRMS PTFs, the system needs to be out of
FlashCopy mode for the PTF to apply.
To verify the FlashCopy status of a system is *END, enter the
following command:
   CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD) PARM('FLSSYSSTS ' '*DISPLAY')

After the BRMS PTF is installed, do the following to enable the
BRMS plug-in for the IBM Systems Director Navigator for i5/OS
(web browser).

Enable the BRMS plug-in for the IBM Systems Director Navigator
  for i5/OS.
Note:  ending the http admin servers may affect other non-BRMS
  users.
  From System i:
    1. Enter the command to end the http admin servers:
      ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN)
    2. Wait for the http admin server jobs to end or terminate
  them.
      Use command:  WRKACTJOB SBS(QHTTPSVR)
    3. Restart the http admin servers:
      STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN)
