APAR status

Error description

  • When editing ILE RPG source in Rational Developer for i (RDI)
9.6.0.8, the user can invoke the RPG Procedure Wizard to create
a new procedure in the source.  Description text specified in
the wizard for the procedure and its parameters are inserted for
the procedure definition which is added to the source; but the
description text should also be inserted for the procedure
prototype declaration section which is generated separately in
the source.

In addition, when a Program procedure type is selected in the
wizard, it generates an incorrect parameter value for EXTPGM(),
specifying EXTPGM('*DCLCASE') when it should be the name
specified in the wizard entry.

Local fix

  • Correct the inserted text manually.

The RPG Procedure Wizard can be used to insert a new procedure
in the source. It should place the description text its given
both in the generated prototype and procedure definition.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.6.0.12 update.
