SE72449: RDI 9.6.0.6 ILE RPG SYNTAX CHECKING AND PROGRAM VERIFY ARE ENABLED BUT NOT SUPPORTED ON MACOS

Error description

• In Rational Developer for i (RDi) 9.6.0.6, ILE RPG Syntax
  Checking and Program Verify menu items are shown but the
  capability is not available when running on macOS.  Menu options
   and preferences that are not available in the currnet context
  should be grayed out or not shown.
  
  For example, in  Window > Preferences > Remote Systems > LPEX
  Editor > IBM i Parsers > ILE RPG shows "Automatic syntax
  checking" is enabled, however, editing an RPG member on macOS
  would not display syntax check errors.

Problem conclusion

• This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.6.0.8 update. The preference
  continues to appear; but in a disabled display mode in a macOS
  environment. This is consistent with other actions for syntax
  check and program verify in the macOS environment where these
  functions are not available.
