APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Downloading a source member containing mixed DBCS and SBCS
characters may result in SISO being replaced with a character
that is not supported on all code pages and is represented with
the '?' glyph.

Local fix

  • Manually replace the character with a space if desired.

* workspace file encoding is not Unicode.                      *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
* There was a problem representing adjacent Shift-In/Shift-Out *
* bytes in the file character encoding used for the local file *
* in the i Project.                                            *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
RDi is reverted back to converting the adjacent
Shift-In/Shift-Out bytes to a double byte space character in the
downloaded local file in the i Project, preserving the EBCDIC
byte spacing for upload.
