SE70060: RDI 9.6 REMOTE SYSTEMS LPEX EDITOR CANNOT HANDLE UNICODE CHARACTERS IN A QSYS SOURCE MEMBER

Error description

• The Remote Systems LPEX Editor in Rational Developer for i (RDI)
  9.6 does not show the correct Unicode characters in the member
  when editing a QSYS source file member with a UTF-8 CCSID (CCSID
  1208).  It appears to have a problem with characters higher than
  0x00FF, or other than the Basic Latin (ASCII)  (0x0000 - 007F)
  and the Latin-1 Supplement (Extended ASCII) (0x0080 - 00FF)
  blocks.  These characters would be corrupted in the file when
  the editor content was saved to the source member.

  the userâ ™s connection job CCSID and the character conversion
  would fail if that CCSID was not *HEX (= 65535).
  

Problem conclusion

• This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.6.0.9 update.
