Error description

  • Customer complained incorrect message AMQ8023 on MQ IBM i
environment. When they execute RSTMQMCHL then they receive
AMQ8023 with incorrect reset value zero on job log. However, in
the qmgr's AMQERR01.LOG, that AMQ8023 message is recorded with
    correct value.

    Recreate steps:
    - RSTMQMCHL CHLNAME(SYSTEM.DEF.SENDER) MQMNAME(QmgrName)
    - Reviewed the joblog, we find
'new sequence number of the channel is 0'. <=== incorrect.
    - Reviewed the Qmgr's AMQERR01.LOG, we find the
'new sequence number of the channel is 1'. <=== correct.

The issue is applicable for other MQ versions, such as MQ IBM i
    Version 8, 7.1 etc.
