Abstract
OSP-PERFM IMPROVE ASP DEVICE VARY-ON PERFORMANCE
Error Description
Add the RTNCODES keyword to the UFCB used to open the
QSPL/QASPLINFO file during the ChkForDupFiles procedure of Spool
Initialization. This eliminates the need to handle a status
message for each spooled file on the iASP.
Problem Summary
Add the RTNCODES keyword to the UFCB used to open the
QSPL/QASPLINFO file during the ChkForDupFiles procedure of Spool
Initialization. This eliminates the need to send and receive a
status message for each spooled file on the iASP during vary on
processing.
Problem Conclusion
This PTF reduces the amount of time spent in the Spool
Initialization step during vary-on of an ASP device.
