Abstract
RDARS-T/QRLCASMAPO-MSGMCH1210 WHEN MARKING AN OPTICAL VOLUME
FULL
Error Description
MCH1210 to QRLCASMAPO module when marking an optical volume
full.
Problem Summary
Message MCH1210 was issued by module QRLCASMAPO when marking an
optical volume full.
The Start Archived Storage Management (STRASMOND) command will
start the instance server if it is not active so that it can
archive the reports it generates to the Content Manager OnDemand
system log. This can result in the instance server remaining up
after the reports are archived when it had been previously
ended.
When message OND0519 is issued it does not format correctly.
When using optical the bytes used might be calculated
incorrectly.
Problem Conclusion
The optical volume capacity in table QARLCOVET is 15 digits.
The code only allowed for 11 digits. The code will now handle a
capacity greater than 11 digits.
The Start Archived Storage Management (STRASMOND) command will
now end the instance server if it starts it, thereby returning
the instance server to its original state.
Message OND0519 will now format correctly.
There was a rare case where the optical bytes used might be
calculated incorrectly. This has been fixed. This could cause
a volume to be marked full that was not actually full. You can
run the following command to reset the optical bytes used if
necessary. CALL PGM(QRDARS/QRLCASMROV) PARM('instance name')
replacing 'instance name' with the name of an instance. This
process will not automatically reset the optical volume full
flag of a volume if it is set to yes. It is a manual process to
reset any optical volume that might have been marked full in
error.
