Error description
When using Screen Designer in IBM Rational Developer for i 9.1.0 and 9.1.1 to display screen titles in a display file, dspf, with multiple WDWTITLE parameters only the first parameters are allowed and others are ignored. If ITEM MASTER ADDITIONAL DETAILS is the title and is set to *LEFT with no top indicated and F8=UPDATE is set to *LEFT *BOTTOM. ITEM MASTER ADDITIONAL DETAILS should be in the top left border. However, the emulator and design and screen panels take the *LEFT only and ignore any others. The IBM i documentation reads: #1 If you specify the WDWTITLE keyword more than once at the effect are combined. #2 The *TOP/*BOTTOM parameter specifies if the text should be embedded in the top or bottom border. If not specified, the text will be placed in the top border. In #1 combining *LEFT and *BOTTOM would result in *LEFT and *BOTTOM. In #2, *LEFT has no accompanying *TOP or *BOTTOM parameter and so should result in *LEFT and *TOP, but are ignored. The emulator and preview and design panes will be reviewed to match the WDWTITLE specifications.
Local fix
Manually add the *TOP in the design panes or in the dspf code for the title to be set in the top border.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * DDS developers using RDi. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * In RDi Screen Designer WDWTITLEs were not shown in the top * * and bottom at the same time. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** DDS allows WDWTITLEs to be specified concurrently for both the top and bottom rows of a window. Screen Designer would only show the title in either the top or bottom in both the Design Page and Preview Page. The size of the title was not being truncated in the Preview page. The bracketing attribute bytes were not being displayed correctly in the Design Page.
Problem conclusion
This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.5.0.3 update.
