SE60358: WITH IBM RDI 9.1 WITH IBM V7R2 USING THE IBM I SEARCH, ERROR RSEO1002E AND CPC2228 WINDOWS BLOCK OUTPUT OF SEARCH RESULTS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• With IBM i V7R2, IBM Rational Developer for i 9.1, when using
  the IBM i Search, the user is blocked by a window with the error
  RSEO1002E and then CPC2228:Primary group of object QABCDEFG in
  QGPL type *USERSPC changed.
  The requested search output can not be displayed.
  
  The message CPC2228 is being sent while PDM is creating a user
  space for the search processing.
  The user profile who does the search must belong to a certain
  group profile with some special authorities granted to it.
  The insert objects into a library (QLIINSRT) program that is
  called by the QUSCRTUS program requires a change to the primary
  group on the creating user space object.
  The message itself is informational with no severity and will
  not cause any exceptions.
  
  Code will be changed to ignore this message.
  

Local fix

• Check the group authority of the user profile.
  Change the group authority *NONE.

  user is blocked by a window with the errors RSEO1002E and then
  CPC2228: Primary group of object QABCDEFG in QGPL type *USERSPC
  changed. The requested search output will not be displayed as a
  result.
  A fix also exists for a different issue with the search on V7R2.
  If you are seeing a Java heap error, you may need to apply the
  PTF SI53107 to resolve it.
  

Problem conclusion

• This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.1.1 update.
