Abstract
OSP-UNPRED-MSGMCH0601 VARYING ON INDEPENDENT ASP
Error Description
When an independent ASP is varied on, varied off, and then
varied on again later in the same job, the vary on may fail with
MSGMCH0601 (Space offset is outside current limit for object).

When an independent ASP is varied on, varied off, and then
varied on again later in the same job, the vary-on may fail with
MSGMCH0601 (Space offset is outside current limit for object).
Other failures related to the independent ASP being varied on,
other independent ASPs, or other system functions may occur.
Problem Conclusion
The vary-on function was using a pointer to storage that was no
longer allocated. Signing off and signing back on again will
allow the independent ASP to be varied on, but will not correct
any other failures that might occur on the system. You may have
to perform an IPL of the system to correct the other problems.
The PTF prevents the problem from occurring during future
vary-on operations.
