Error description

  • If you try to manually open the dialog to set a Service Entry
    Point (SEP) and type in the name of a *SRVPGM, module and
    procedure incorrectly then try to set the SEP it will fail.
    Correcting the name and trying again may still fail even though
    the values may be correct the second time.

  • Close then re-open the dialog and enter the values correctly or
    browse to the *SRVPGM in RSE and use the context menus to set
    the SEP.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When a user creates a service entry point using the SET action
    from the IBM i Service Entry Points view, if they enter the
    correct module and procedure name but wrong service program
    name the first time, setting the service entry point will fail,
    which is an expected behavior. However, even after the user
    corrects the service program name to the right one, setting
    the service entry point continues to fail.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.0.1 update.
