Abstract
OSP-DB-OTHER-F/QSQCVTOP-T/QSQCVTOP-MSGMCH1210 SAVE *PGM FOR
PREVIOUS RELEASE FAILS MSGMCH1210
Error Description
SAVOBJ or SAVLIB with TGTRLS(V5R2M0) fails with MSGMCH1210
F/QSQCVTOP T/QSQCVTOP procedure CONVERT_OP_TO_PREVIOUS. The
program was originally created on a R520 system and brought up
to a R540 system. The program was also marked using an SQL
CREATE PROCEDURE statement for an external procedure.
Problem Summary
Customer created program for previous release R520 on a R540
system. SAVOBJ or SAVLIB with TGTRLS(V5R2M0) fails MSGMCH1210.
F/QSQCVTOP T/QSQCVTOP procedure CONVERT_OP_TO_PREVIOUS Moves or
copies object to a different library, able to save program
object.
Problem Conclusion
Program was originally created on a release prior to v5r4.
Program was marked with a CREATE PROCEDURE where it was
specified as an external program and had a specific name that
was less than 10 bytes. When the program was converted on a V5R4
system, the conversion occurred successfully, but when the
procedure was registered in sysroutines as an sql procedure, an
entry already existed with the same specific name. When the new
specific name was changed in the program, the 10-byte name
overlayed other data. The procedure can be successfully called
on the current release. However, saving the program to a
previous release may cause an error in QSQCVTOP and the save may
fail.
