APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A queue manager may fail to start with AMQ6239 Permission
    Denied if the owner of the Queue Manager error log is not set
    to QMQM. (Also AMQ7002 )
    
    Found at 7.0.1.1, if QMQM has *ALLOBJ authority, or is a member
    of a group profile with *ALLOBJ authority, the log rollover
    process will leave QSECOFR as the owner of AMQERR02.log.
    
    No FDCs are generated
    

Local fix

  • Remove *ALLOBJ authority from QMQM. (QMQM is not shipped with
    *allobj authority)
    
    Alternatively, after each log rollover, run:
    CHGOWN OBJ('/qibm/userdata/mqm/qmgrs/YOURNAME/errors/amq*.*')
    NEWOWN(QMQM)
    CHGPGP OBJ('/qibm/userdata/mqm/qmgrs/YOURNAME/errors/amq*.*')
    NEWOWN(QMQMADM)

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    WMQ code was not correctly accounting for scenarios where QMQM
    may have *ALLOBJ authority. In these cases, the error logs at
    rollover time were incorrectly assigning ownership to QSECOFR
    instead of QMQM.

  • WMQ code has been corrected to properly assign authority to
    error logs at rollover time.
