Abstract
OSP-INCORROUT Performance Collections task
Error Description
When a Collection Services Management Collection object has its
expiration date changed, the new date is not always reflected in
the expiration date shown via IBM Systems Director Navigator for
i or System i Navigator client.
Problem Summary
The list of collections shown by the Performance Collections
task within the IBM Systems Director Navigator for i may be
incorrect. When collections are changed, it is possible for a
duplicate entry to be generated rather than the update of an
existing entry. Although rare, other unpredictable failures can
occur when the collection list is updated.
Problem Conclusion
The problem occurs when a new or changed collection is
registered in an internal collections table. The problem stems
from inconsistent handling of name strings. This fix hardens
the code to correctly handle both blank padded and null
terminated names.
