Abstract

Incorrect message displayed when *ALS base queue does not exist

Error Description

WRKMQMMSG on an incorrectly configured alias queue (*ALS), ie  
TGTQNAME is not valid or does not exist, should error with      
message AMQ8280 "Queue does not exist."                        
WMQ V6 and V7 are not translating the return code              
(x822 or 2082) into the proper System i error message          
that would allow recovery.                                      
                                                               
V6 may give "Text not available for message AMQ0822 file AMQMSG"
V7 may give "WebSphere MQ error (X'00000822') has occurred."

Problem Conclusion

WMQ code has been modified to display the AMQ8280 error message
