Abstract

WMQ delay with non-persistent message processing

Error Description

Under heavy load, a WMQ queue manager can stop responding for
about 10 seconds. The queue manager job AMQRMPPA will be in CNDW
during this time.

Here's a sample call stack. Note: the stack is normal. What is
not normal is the length of time taken by the qmanager to post
the needed condition.

USERS AFFECTED:
WMQ users processing large quantities of non-persistent messages
at V6

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The Queue Manager Agent process is waiting for an exclusive lock
on the QHandle but the event to show the lock has been released
is not posted. This results in a pause in message processing.

Problem Conclusion

Code changes were made to ensure that the event for a released
lock is posted in a timely manner. This issue is already
addressed in WMQ V7 and higher.
