Abstract
Lotus Notes "Quick Setup" install fails because user id file is
not retrieved.
Error Description
The Domino short name stored in the Domino Person Document is
used when generating the user's id file. If the short name used
on the Notes install Wizard login does not match the short name
case sensitivity stored in the Person Doc, then the id file is
not retrieved and the "Quick Install" option in the Notes
installer fails.
A circumvention is to use the "Advanced Setup" option which
requires the user to retrieve the id file manually.
Problem Summary
If the Notes install wizard user short name used for login does
not match the exact (case-sensitive) user short name stored on
the Smart Cube, then the id file is not retrieved.
Problem Conclusion
The short name case sensitivity is now ignored for retrieval of
the user's id file. A successful user login now results in the
retrieval of the user's id file regardless of the case
sensitivity.
