Abstract

MQM400 AMQCRSTA JOB DOES NOT RUN UNDER USER-DEFINED SUBSYSTEM

Error Description

In iSeries users can define their own subsystem and run
specific queue manager jobs inside these subsystem. It was
found that AMQCRSTA job was not running under the user defined
subsystem but instead it is running under QMQM subsystem even
after changing the required job descriptions while all other
queue manager jobs are running under user defined subsystem.

Problem Summary

In iSeries users can define their own subsystem and run
specific queue manager jobs inside these subsystem. It was
found that AMQCRSTA job was not running under the user defined
subsystem but instead it is running under QMQM subsystem even
after changing the required job descriptions while all other
queue manager jobs are running under user defined subsystem.

Users affected: WMQ users in iSeries platform using non
threaded listener (AMQCRSTA) and defining their own subsystem
to run the queue manager jobs.

Platforms affected: iSeries

When submit job was executed to start the AMQCRSTA job it
failed to get the queue manager library name and hence picked
up QMQM library as default and used the job description inside
QMQM library. The job description in QMQM library directed it
to run under QMQM subsystem.

Problem Conclusion

Code changes were carried out to ensure that the queue manager
library name in retrieved correctly. If the library name is
retrieved correctly the subsequent steps of picking up the
desired job description happens and AMQCRSTA job runs under
user defined subsystem.

The fix will be included in 6.0.2.3.
