Error description
-
In the HD Pointer Checker job, it is required that all logically related and index databases are specified in the PROCCTL data set. When this condition is not satisfied, HD Pointer Checker should end with a RC=04 or a RC=00 - however, HD Pointer Checker issues ABENDU3999 incorrectly.

When this * * condition is not satisfied, HD Pointer * * Checker should end with RC=04 or RC=00. * * However, HD Pointer Checker issues * * ABENDU3999 incorrectly. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** A database number(DB#) is assigned to all logically or index databases by the HD Pointer Checker. This error causes because HD Pointer Checker process the DB# incorectly, when some logically or index databases are not processed. The detailed conditions of this error is as follows: 1. The databases are non-HALDB. 2. Some logically related or index databases are not specified in the DATABASE statement in the PROCCTL data set. 3. The DB# of the unspecified database is smaller than the DB# of the specified database. 4. The specified database has pointers pointing to the unspecified database, and the target database having a smaller DB# than the specified database. When all of the following conditions are satisfied, HD Pointer Checker searches the internal control block by the DB# of unspecified database instead of the specified database, and gets ABENDU3999.
Problem conclusion
-
The module FABPHEVL is corrected not to use the unspecified DB#.
