Error description

  • Area Information Record fields USRPFLG1, USRSEGCD, and USRSHLVL
contain x'01', x'0001' and x'0001' respectively, when they
should contain zeros after an FPB UNLOAD run. The Users Guide,
Area Information Record layout shows that the fields should
    be zero.
This is a forward fit of APAR PQ95663.
Please note: As RELOAD doesn't use these fields, this will not
    affect the RELOAD.

Area Information Record fields : USRSEGCD, USRSHLVL, and USRPSCD
    contain x'0001', x'0001' and x'0001' respectively,
when they should contain zeros after an FPB V2R1 UNLOAD run.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem occurred on the following conditions.

       1. Unload Multiple areas and the 1st area is empty
       2. Not REORG mode
       3. Root segment key length is longer than 9 bytes

When these conditions are satisfied, garbage remained in
Area Information Record fields USRSEGCD, USRSHLVL, and USRPSCD.
This is because variable root segment key value field is not
taken into consideration to clear the USR buffer that is used
to write the area information record.

FABC1EOJ has been modified to clear the USR buffer by taking
root segment key value field into consideration.
