APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • For TYPE=ALL or SCAN, IMS2 is a required DD statement and
must point to the library containing user exit routines.
    This APAR removes this requirement.
HD Pointer Checker will load the user exit
modules from STEPLIB if IMS2 DD is not specified.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HD Poiner Checker loads user exit *
    * routines from STEPLIB data set instead *
    *                      of IMS2.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
WHen the IMS2 DD statement is not specified to the HD Pointer
Checker JCL, the data sets referred to by either the STEPLIB
or JOBLIB DD statement are first searched for the entry name
of the following user exit routines:
    - HDAM and PHDAM Randomizing Routine
    - Segment Edit/Compression Exit Routine
    - Secondary Index Database Maintenance Exit Routine
    - FABPZWTO
If the entry name is not found, the link library is searched.

When the IMS2 DD is specified to the HD Pointer Checker JCL,
the user exit load module is loaded from the data set reffered
by the IMS2 DD statement. If the entry name is not found, the
STEPLIB, JOBLIB, or the link library is not searched.

If there is no entry name, a load error is occur except for
    FABPZWTO.
If FABPZWTO is not found, it is not used and the error
    message is not issued.

The IMS2 row in Table 2 FABPMAIN DD Statements,
    it is changed as follows:

-The column of PROC TYPE=ALL is changed to "O".
-The column of PROC TYPE=SCAN is changed to "O".
-The column of description is changed to
       "HDAM and PHDAM Randomizing Routines,

Secondary Index Maintenance Exit Routine, and
        FABPZWTO".

The following statements are added to the description of
    STEPLIB DD:

      - If you do not specify the IMS2 DD statement to HD Pointer
Checker JCL, specify the data set contains the following
        load modules:
    | HDAM and PHDAM Randomizing Routines
    | Segment Edit/Compression Exit Routine
    | Secondary Index Database Maintenance Exit Routine
    | FABPZWTO

The description of IMS2 DD is changed as follows:

    IMS2 DD
    |This optional input data set is a library (a partitioned data
    |set) that contains the randomizing modules used with your
    |HDAM/PHDAM databases.

    |If you are using a segment edit/compression facility, the IMS2
    |DD data set must contain the segment edit/compression exit
    |routine specified in the DBD.

If you are using the Secondary Index Maintenance Exit routine,
the IMS2 DD data set must contain the Secondary Index
Maintenance Exit routine specified in the DBD.

    |If you omit the IMS2 DD statement, include these load modules
    |to the data set referred by the STEPLIB, JOBLIB, or the link
    |library.

The problem determination is changed as follows:

Problem Determination: You may have specified an incorrect
partition selection exit routine or a broken database. Make
    | sure that STEPLIB DD library contains the correct HALDB
      Partition Selection exit routine.
