PQ92805: PANEL ADB27C OMITS ADDFK FROM COMMAND LIST AFTER UP COMMAND IS USED TO UPDATE PRIMARY KEY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool panel adb27c omits ADDFK from list
  of valid commands after use of UP command to Update Primary key
  column, as part of ALC ( Alter Column ) processing.

  Execution of the generated ALTER job fails with errors similar
  to the following:

  RESULT OF SQL STATEMENT:
  DSNT408I SQLCODE = -538, ERROR:  FOREIGN KEY RBERECH2
  DOES NOT CONFORM TO THE DESCRIPTION OF A PARENT KEY OF TABLE
           $ER1C.TBENU

  Additional symptoms: msgdsnt408i sqlcode538 add foreign key
  U line command does not help restore ADDFK command
  Command not allowed
  

Local fix

• Use ADD command first, which will then restore ADDFK to the list
  of valid commands.
