Error description

  • IMS DEDB Fast Recovery V220 to support IMS APAR PQ85220 PTF
    UQ87159 for IMS V9.
CASTOUT processing loops under Multiple AREA Structure ( MAS )
    environment of Shared VSO AREAs.
This structure had 32 SVSO AREAs.
Endless loop happened in DIRINFO routine of DBFVXOC0, DO loop at
SEQ#09890000. At timeout, DIRINFO routine is designed to retry
from the first by passing zero EXTRESTOKEN on IXLCACHE macro.
But every IXLCACHE READ_COCLASS request resulted in timeout
    (RC=04, Reason=0C0E0409).

-PQ91487 for IMS DEDB Fast Recovery
IMS APAR changes the maximum number of CASTOUT Classes to 1024
in case of MAS. And DFR also changes the maximum number of
    CASTOUT Classes to 1024.
    -PQ85220
This service resolves a problem with SVSO MAS Structures when
during SYSTEM CHECKPOINT processing, due to the large number of
updated data entries in a CASTOUT Class for a MAS Structure,
The XES request to READ_COCLASS can time out and go into a
    timeout loop.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • The module DFRXCAS9 and DFRXMAS9 have been modified.

DFRXCAS9 - For MAS Structure, the new algorithm is used for
               CASTOUT Class.
DFRXMAS9 - The maximum number of CASTOUT Classes is set to 1024.
