Error description
IMSV9 HALDB Online Reorganization Support for HP UNLOAD V1
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM IMS High Performance * * Unload for OS/390 Release 1 (FMID=H1IN110) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR enables IMS High Performance * * Unload for OS/390 Release 1 to access * * the HALDB partition that is defined as * * HALDB Online Reorganization (OLR) * * capable. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR enables IMS High Performance Unload for OS/390 Release 1 to support the following new functions introduced by IMS Version 9 (Program Number:5655-J38). 1. HALDB Online Reorganization (OLR) High Performance Unload will be able to access PHDAM and PHIDAM partitions that are defined as HALDB OLR capable unless the HALDB OLR is currently running. When the HALDB OLR is stopped prior to the completion for a partition and both data sets (the A-J,X set and the M-V,Y set) are active, FABHRUG1 or FABHFSU can also processes the partition if none of the following options is specified: - DECN - PARTEXTR - USEREXIT - *CS FORMAT for PHDAM In this case, the following options for the HSSR Engine are ignored: BYINDEX, CO, DBSTATS, KEYCHECK, or SKERROR. 2. DBRC initial value in DFSIDEF0 If the DFSIDEF0 module contains the initial value for DBRC and the module can be loaded, the value will be accepted same as the IMS Version 9 Batch environment. The DBRC= keyword of the IMSCTRL macro for sysgen will be ignored. This is applied only when the IMS Version 9 library is specified in DFSRESLB DD.

======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== IMS High Performance Unload for OS/390 User's Guide (SC27093602) should be changed as follows: 1.0 Using High Performance Unload 1.1 Introduction 1.1.3 Processing Environment 1.1.3.3 Restrictions : Restrictions related with each utility program are described in the chapters for each utility. | High Performance Unload supports PHDAM or PHIDAM partitions | that are defined as capable of as HALDB Online Reorganization | (OLR). If one or more partitions are in the following | HALDB OLR status, High Performance Unload cannot process | the HALDB: | - HALDB OLR is currently running. | - HALDB OLR is stopped prior to the completion for | the partition and one of the following option is | specified for FABHURG1 or FABHFSU: | - DECN | - PARTEXTR | - USEREXIT | - *CS FORMAT for PHDAM | When none of the above options is specified, High | Performance Unload can process the partition. | The following options for the HSSR Engine, however, | are ignored: | BYINDEX, CO, DBSTATS, KEYCHECK, and SKERROR. | In this case, the performance decreases because | the HSSR Engine passes the DL/I calls to the IMS's DL/I | call handler from the partition. We recommend that you run | High Performance Unload after the completion of | the HALDB OLR. 1.4 Using FABHURG1 to Unload IMS Databases 1.4.7 Input 1.4.7.1 SYSIN Data Set 1.4.7.1.4 FRMT Control Statement Notes: | 2.If *CS is specified and one or more partitions of PHDAM | are in a HALDB OLR cursor-active status, FABHURG1 ends | abnormally. 1.4.7.1.5 DEC Control Statement Notes: | 2.If DECN option is specified and one or more partitions of | PHDAM or PHIDAM are in a HALDB OLR cursor-active status, | FABHURG1 ends abnormally. 1.5 Using FABHFSU to Unload IMS Databases 1.5.7 Input 1.5.7.1 CARDIN Data Set 1.5.7.1.4 PSB Control Statement Position Description : 24 Exit Routine Name : | Note: If a user exit routine is specified and one or more | partitions are in a HALDB OLR cursor-active status, | FABHFSU ends abnormally. 1.5.7.1.5 DEC Control Statement Notes: | 2.If DECN option is specified and one or more partitions of | PHDAM or PHIDAM are in a HALDB OLR cursor-active status, | FABHFSU ends abnormally. 1.8 Specifying Options for HSSR Engine 1.8.2 HSSROPT Data Set 1.8.2.2 Description of Control Statements 1.8.2.2.4 BYINDEX Control Statement Notes: | 2. RBA of Segment Prefix | If your IMS environment supports the HALDB Online | Reorganization (OLR), you must check whether the SPHALDB flag | and the SPMACTV flag, which are shown in the Fugure 58, are | on.
