Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
The modules HPSR***9 and FABSPSL9 are added newly and other modules are modified for IMS V9 rununder support. * ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== Documentation Changes: IMS High Performance Load User's Guide (SC27093802) should be changed as follows: ------------------------------------------------------------ PREFACE.4 References to IMS Products and Releases : To make the text in this book easier to read, the version and release level of IMS has been abbreviated. The following abbreviation is used: : >> The following line should be deleted. DELETE: IMS Version 5 refers to IMS/ESA Version 5 Release 1 /DELETE: IMS Version 6 refers to IMS/ESA Version 6 Release 1 IMS Version 7 refers to IMS Version 7 Release 1 IMS Version 8 refers to IMS Version 8 Release 1 >> The following line should be added. ADD: IMS Version 9 refers to IMS Version 9 Release 1 /ADD: : 2.1.1.2 Initializing an Empty Database If you specify the DFSUINPT DD DUMMY statement, High Performance Load initializes an HDAM and HIDAM database. >> The following paragraph should be deleted. DELETE: It also performs as an performance replacement of the IMS HALDB partition data set initialization utility (DFSUPNT0). /DELETE: An HIDAM and each partition a PHIDAM database contains a root segment with a key of all X'FF'. : 2.6.2 Reorganizing Partitions Individually : >> The following paragraph should be modified. You need to initialize the partition before the reload processing, and specify PARTINIT=NO in each IMS High Performance Load job. For the partition initialization processing, you can use IMS High Performance Load job by | specifying a dummy DFSUINPT DD in place of IMS DB pre-reorganization utility (DFSURPR0). : 3.0 Physical Sequence Sort for Reload : 3.1.1.2 Preventing Cascading : >> The following paragraph should be added. ADD: NOTE : If you reload database using IMS High Performance Load, we recommend using SERACH=-nnn parameter to prevent cascading instead of using PSSR. If you don't need to prevent cascading, specify 'NO' parameter in column 51-52 of your control statement (see "CTL Data Set (Used by FABSPSSR)" on page 85 or "CTL Data Set (Used by FABSPSSI)"on page 90). /ADD: 3.2 Operating Instructions 3.2.3 JCL Requirements : >> The following paragraph should be modified. SORTIN DD This input data set is the sequential data set containing the unloaded database. It is created by the IMS HD Reorganization Unload utilities or an equivalent program. The acceptable format of unloaded database data set is the HD, the *SH format, or the communication industry standard format (*CS). The *CS or *SH format data set are created by IMS High Performance Unload for OS/390 unload utilities. | *CS format is not supported when the input DBD is defines as an HALDB. : 3.3.2.3 Example of Steps for Preventing Cascading : >> The following paragraph should be modified. : 4. Delete the old database cluster and define a new one. 5. Reload the database with IMS HD Reorganization Reload | utility or an equivalent program 6. Create an image copy of the new database. : APPENDIX 1.3 Appendix C. Messages and Codes APPENDIX 1.3.3 Messages APPENDIX 1.3.3.1 High Performance Load Messages >>The following message is Modified. HPSR3651E SEGMENT WAS RELOADED BEYOND THE xGB SIZE LIMIT Explanation: High Performance Load utility reloaded a segment the 4- (or 8-) gigabyte size limit. System Action: Module HPSRHDLD or HPSRRLDM issues a user 3651 abend. Programmer Response: If the block size is correct, the database data set is full. If you are reloading an HDAM/PHDAM database, adjust the SEARCH control statement to decrease the number of segments directed to overflow portion of the database. If so, rerun the job. If this situation persists, plan to divide the database data set into two or more data set groups. Correct the error and rerun the job. Problem Determination: Check if the block size of the output | database data set is even and database is a non-HALDB, when you are reloading an unloaded data set made from an OSAM database whose size was over 4 GB.
