Error description

  • MSGHPSG0385E is received in error, after applying PQ65978.
The problem is a latent bug that surfaced with the
application of PQ65978.  The problem occurs in the following
situation:

1) Running IPR Driver of IPR V2R1 with PQ65978 applied.
2) The database you reorganize is a non-HALDB and the operating
system access method OSAM is used for the database.
3) DYNALLOC control statement DYNALLOC=NO or
DYNALLOC=(NO,NO,NO) is specified.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If DYNALLOC=NO is specified and         *
*                      the database to be reorganized is OSAM  *
*                      non-HALDB, IPR Driver always issues     *
*                      MSGHPSG0385E and ends with RC08.        *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
****************************************************************
If DYNALLOC=NO is specified and the database to be reorganized
is OSAM non-HALDB, IPR Driver always issues MSGHPSG0385E and
ends with RC08.
This problem occurs after applying the PTF UQ70559 provided
with the APAR PQ65978.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The module HPSGRP00 has been modified to check the status of
the OSAM database data sets, even if DYNALLOC=NO is specified.
