APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Dynamic allocation of tape volume fails, and DCB is left open.
Attempt deallocate (dynfree) while DCB is still open results
in Errorcode 1056.

DCB must be closed before doing dynfree (dynamic deallocation).

Local fix

  • Recycle server to free drive and volume.
