Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: The actual problem was a FABZ038 IO Error *
    * message, an IO error when working on a *
    * temporary file, with this naming *
    *                 convention...USERHIQL.PRODID.TEMP. Users     *
    * that get this error message should apply *
    *                 this fix.                                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: During its execution, DBRF allocates *
    * temporary work files. One is named with *
    *                      this convention, USERHIQL.PRODID.TEMP.  *
    * This file is allocated to UNIT=SYSDA, *
    * whichcould end up on a multitude of *
    * devices. When trying to open and write *
    * to this file, DBRF may show an error *
    *                      message, "FABZ038 IO Error".            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    DBRF allocates a temporary work file, USERHIQL.PRODID.TEMP. With
    this fix, DBRF will write an EOF marker after allocation, to
    prevent the possible occurence of a FABZ038 IO Error message.

Problem conclusion

  • DBRF now writes an EOF marker after allocating its temporary
    work file,USERHIQL.PRODID.TEMP. This should prevent future
    FABZ038 IO Erro messages on this file.
