Error description

  • Although OPC has checks to ensure the ISPF dialog code, the
    CONTROLLER subsystem, and the CONTROLLER started task are all
    at the same level of code, these checks do not verify the level
    of critical interface module EQQMINOR.
    .
    Because EQQMINOR must execute APF authorized, it must reside in
    an authorized library. This makes it difficult to use STEPLIB
    or LIBDEF statements to set up the correct OPC load library
    (for instance when migrating from one release to another and
    running the old and new versions in parallel), since any
    UNAUTHORIZED library in a STEPLIB or LIBDEF contatenation
    causes ALL the libraries listed to lose their authorizations.
    .
    When this occurs, the system loads the version of EQQMINOR found
    in the LINKLISTED OPC loadlibrary. And since EQQMINOR is
    RELEASE SENSITIVE, the resulting mismatch may cause strange,
    intermittent, unpredictable problems which are difficult and
    timeconsuming to debug.
    .
    The existing checks for verification of code levels should be
    extended to include EQQMINOR.

    *                      problems can occur                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY THE PTF FIXING THIS APAR *
    ****************************************************************
    When the EQQMINOR level is different from the susbsystem and
    Dialog level, intermittent and unpredictable problems can occur;
    for example if the susbsystem and Dialog level is OPC 2.3.0 and
    the EQQMINOR level is TWS 8.1.0 the R&C function does not work
    and the message EQQX121E is issued incorrectly.

Problem conclusion

  • A check is added so that when there is a mismatch, the message
    "EQQX146E The EQQMINOR level does not match the subsystem level"
    is issued.
    The following documentation must be changed:
