Error description

  • Customer gets ABEND 0C4 RC10 in TCP/IP 3.2 during startup of IMS
    listener BMP. The Abend occurs in module IFG0198N+x'3EE' which
    is at Level UW90275.
    The reason is, that the exit list pointed by DCB+24 (EZAIMSFX+
    2B6), is not a fullword boundary.
    If that is the case, then IFG0198N deletes the last 2 bits from
    that exit address and does wrong processing after that. The AND
    instruction for that action is at x 3b6 in IFG0198N.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND0C4 when starting the TCP/IP IMS *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When the TCP/IP IMS Listener task is started and the DCB Open
    exits are invoked, unpredictable results can occur since the
    address list for the DCB exit routines is not aligned on a
    fullword boundary

Problem conclusion

  • The TCP/IP IMS Listener subroutines have been amended to insure
    the DCB exit list is aligned on a fullword boundary.
