EMS0620E MODULE EMSEPRMR. THE 3270 DATA STREAM CONTAINS INVALID DATA AT OFFSET EMS0620E X'000F', LU = EMSA4001,P0 = 4040,P1 = 7200, SENSE 0C06 EMS0620E DATA = X'40404040404040404040404040404040'.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All NV/AS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Using an autologon (to a CICS appl) and * * hitting the PF1 key for help at the * * procedure end, in 3472-4 InfoWindow * * term environment, the procedure fails, * * NVAS issues the error msgEMS0620E * * (EMS0620E MODULE EMSEPRMR - 3270 DATA * * STREAM CONTAINS INVALID DATA AT OFFSET * * x'000F' SENSE=0C06). * * On the other cust term environment * * 3192G the same procedure works well. * * From the VTAM buffer trace the main * * item to be remarked is the real term * * 3472-4 sends no-AID x60 to NVAS, * * NVAS sends to the appl x88. In the * * 3192G case, NVAS forwards x60. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY THE PTF FIXING THIS APAR * **************************************************************** In the 3472-4 InfoWindow real terminal environment, the PF1 key depressing for help at the end of an autologon to a CICS appl does not work; the same procedure works correctly in the 3192G real term env. At problem time NVAS changes the no-AID x60, received from the 3472-4 real term, with the x88 aid (structured field) and forwards this to the appl; the correct x60 data stream is forwarded to the appl in the 3192G case. The wrong case arises when NVAS misunderstands a previous structured field query reply stored in the server term virtual terminal control block with the no-AID just received from the real term, then it replaces the data stream and forwards it incorrectly.
Problem conclusion
Now NVAS checks for the no-AID x60 data stream when in the server term virtual term control block there is stored a previous x88 query reply structured field, and avoids to fall in the previous dangerous update, issuing a better check about the replacement aid routine.
