Error description

  • A customer of ours needs to enable FIPS-140-2 security for the
    iBase environment. When that is enabled, they can no longer
    open or create security files in iBase Designer. Below is the
    details of the error message.

Local fix

  • Change the default value of 1 of the following registry key to
    0.
    
    "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FIPSAlgorithmPolicy\E
    nabled"

    U.S. government computer security standard used to accredit
    cryptographic modules.  This capability is not currently
    available in iBase.
