Error description

• A program that unpacks binary data is loosing 80 bytes and
  returns an EDC5027I - Invalid seek position then abends with a
  IBM535i oncode=8095.
  

Local fix

• Use C/370 2.1 libraries.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The scenario where this problem         *
  *                      occurred is the following sequence of   *
  *                      operations: fwrite, fseek, fwrite,      *
  *                      close.  Upon closing the file, there    *
  *                      was an incomplete last record that was  *
  *                      flushed to the wrong record of the      *
  *                      file.                                   *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  As a result of this problem, the last record was written
  elsewhere in the file other than at the end of the file.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem is fixed by writing the last incomplete record
  to its proper location in the file.
