Error description

  • The customer gets an I/O error during the READ/WRITE
    on a file that has been transfered via the FTP-C.
    This occurs only under C-runtime library 2.1.
    The FTP-C writes RECFM=VB block that conflict with BDW (block
    descriptor word) .Result is I/O error when trying to read/edit
    that file later.

Problem conclusion

  • The V2R1 C runtime is incorrectly determining maximum
    record length for fwrite during fopen for recfm=u. Module
    EZAFTSMV was changed to specify the blocksize to the C-runtime
    library, thereby not allowing the C-runtime to determine it.
       Other customers have reported problem corrected when they
    move to C runtime LE/370 1.3 and up.
