Error description

  • This NSLOOKUP cmd, nslookup -type=TXT ps52 172.16.1.25, returns
(as seen in SYSPRINT from batch job) the followiong msgs:
           EZB3170I Server: hpcs2.manbw.dk
           EZB3172I Address: 172.16.1.25
           EZB3143I ps52.manbw.dk text = ps/2 a9543 how
When displayed in HEX there are non-printable characters
returned in the "TEXT" resource records from the nameserver:
    EZB3143I ps52.manbw.dk text = ps/2 a9543 how
    CECFFFFC449AFF49898A4890A8AA474009A6F48FFFF489A0
    59231439007252B41526B42535730E05E72120195430866F
                                   AA
                                   ||
It appears that the csect BD@list, is passes not only
the TEXT data string to be translated, but passes the
translate routine the data length field preceeding the
    data.
ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS: The EZA3143I is NOT documented in
    the messages and codes manual.

Problem conclusion

  • BD@LIST (EZAAD0OE), BD@DEBUG (EZAAD0OC), and MSNSLOOK (EZAAD0XQ/
EZAEA022) have been changed to increment the pointer past the rr
length byte that was being included in the output message text.
