PN72638: SQL QUERIES ARE FAILING WITH SQLCODE +98 WHEN SUBMITTED TO A C-FTP SERVER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer attempts a SQL Query submitted to a C-FTP server, and
  receives message 551 Transfer aborted; SQL prepare/describe
  failed.  The SQL return code is +98 .  The same query works
  correctly when submitted to a Pascal server.

  *                      SELECT statements ending in a semicolon *

     If a user of the CFTP server uses FILETYPE=SQL and
  submits a DB2 query with a SELECT statement ending with
  a semicolon the CFTP server returns error
      551 TRANSFER ABORTED: SQL PREPARE/DESCRIBE FAILURE
  

Problem conclusion

• Module EZAFTSMQ has been altered to continue processing
  when it encounters the DB2 return code (98) warning that the
  semicolon has been encountered.
