PN70478: IF NVAS IS LOGAPPLED AND THE TERMINAL IS LOCKED WITH KEY, THEN TERMINAL GETS A BLANKS SCREEN INSTAED OF EMSP00 AFTER UNLOCK.

Error description

• If NVAS is logappled and the terminal is locked with key, then
  terminal gets a blanks screen instead of Panel EMSP00 after
  unlock.

  *                      The VTAM buffer trace shows:            *
  *                      1. terminal is powered on (unlocked)    *
  *                      2. CINIT and BIND from NVAS (query bit  *
  *                         is on).                              *
  *                      3. SDT and BID exchange                 *
  *                      4. Query request and query response     *
  *                      5. EMSP00 from NVAS                     *
  *                      6. terminal is locked with the key and  *
  *                         powered off and powered on again     *
  *                      7. CINIT and BIND from NVAS (query bit  *
  *                         is on).                              *
  *                      8. SDT exchange                         *
  *                      9. BID from NVAS results in -rsp with   *
  *                         sense 08020000 (terminal is locked)  *

  The problem occurs when a terminal, LOGAPPLed to NVAS,
  is switched off, or locked with the key, and then back on;
  in this scenario, a blank screen is displayed, and when
  the user presses enter again, the USSMSG10.
  
  The problem is that when the LUSTAT is received and the BID is
  exchanged successfully, NVAS does not reissue a RPQ request but,
  because RIDT is in LOGONPAN status, it sends to the terminal
  what is stored in the VT (that is a blank screen), when it
  receives the ENTER from terminal it sends the unbind because it
  doesn't have the terminal characteristics returned with a "Query
  Reply".
  The solution is to start again the logon process when the RIDT
  is in LOGONPAN or FREERIDT statuts.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem is that when the LUSTAT is received and the BID is
  exchanged successfully, NVAS does not reissue a RPQ request but,
  because RIDT is in LOGONPAN status, it sends to the terminal
  what is stored in the VT (that is a blank screen), when it
  receives the ENTER from terminal it sends the unbind because it
  doesn't have the terminal characteristics returned with a "Query
  Reply".

  is in LOGONPAN or FREERIDT statuts.
