Error description

  • DOCUMENTATION FOR THE :TRHEAD TAG IN CHAPTER 3, PAGE 17 OF THE
    GML APPLICATION GUIDE (G5443305-00) STATES:
"THE :TRHEAD INFORMATION CAN BE USED MANY TIMES IN THE DOCUMENT
BUT WILL TAKE EFFECT ON THE CURRENT PAGE. IF MORE THAN ONE
:TRHEAD IS SPECIFIED FOR THE SAME PAGE, THE MOST RECENT IS
    USED."
THIS NEEDS TO BE CLARIFIED, BECAUSE IF A NEW :TRHEAD IS
SPECIFIED, IT APPEARS ON THE PAGE PRIOR TO WHERE THE USER
WANTS IT PLACED. THIS RESULTS IN AN OVERHEAD WITH A HEADING
THAT DOES NOT MATCH THE TEXT.

Problem conclusion

  • The DCF: Generalized Markup Language Applications Guide
(G544220400) will be updated to add the following bulleted item
to the list under the heading "Things to Remember" on page 26:

"Use care in placing :TRHEAD or :TRFOOT tags to change the
transparency heading or footing in the middle of a document.
Such changes take effect on the current page. This can be
confusing if a tag which causes a page eject immediately
follows a :TRHEAD or :TRFOOT tag. The transparency heading or
footing will seem to take effect one page too early. To
prevent this, place the :TRHEAD or :TRFOOT tag after the tag
which causes the page eject, to ensure that the :TRHEAD or
:TRFOOT is encountered on the page where you want the change in
transparency heading or footing to occur. If the change in
transparency heading or footing is to take place on a page that
is not started with an explicit page eject, but because the
last page filled up with text, place the :TRHEAD or :TRFOOT
tags such that you are sure they will be encountered on the
page upon which you want the change to occur."
