PN21646: TBOPEN RC12 'TABLE ALREADY OPEN' WHEN TRYING TO REOPEN THE TABLE IN THE SAME ISPF SESSION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Getting TBOPEN RC12 'TABLE ALREADY OPEN' when using the
  interactive interface and accessing the same table in the same
  ISPF session.  An ISPF Function Trace shows a RC08 on the first
  TBOPEN which means the table does not exist. Then it shows a
  RC00 (RC0) on the TBCREATE which creates the table and opens
  it. In the trace we do not see a TBCLOSE being performed.
  Subsequently, when they exit to get to the NETVIEW FTP MAIN
  MENU and re-enter, they get the following errors:
          ISPF COULD NOT OPEN THE TABLE OF SAVED REQUEST
          ISPTABL OR ISRTABL IS NOT ALLOCATED OR IS IN ERROR
  ISPF short error message:   TABLE ALREADY OPEN
  ISPF long error message:    TBOPEN ISSUED FOR TABLE XXXXXX THAT
                              IS ALREADY OPEN
  Since the TBCREATE was successful, the TBCLOSE should be
  performed to reopen the table in the same ISPF session.
