Error description

• IBM Rational ClearCase is able to integrate Unified Change
  Management (UCM) projects with IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC)
  using the ClearCase Change Management Integration (CMI). When
  using the UCM-RTC integration, you must identify a format string
  for the provider to use when generating activity names. Two
  built-in macros %task-id and %stream-name are provided. If the
  activityFormat option is not specified, cleartool mkactivity
  will core with a segmentation fault.
  
  Steps to reproduce: Setup the UCM-RTC integration using CMI
  following the technote at
  https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21640748 but
  leave out the "-options activityFormat" syntax when running
  mkcmprovider for a given stream. Using that stream try to create
  an activity with "cleartool mkact -tasks <tasks>".
  
  Workaround: Replace the CM provider on the given stream and add
  the -options syntax.
  
  cleartool mkcmprovider {-stream <stream name>} [-replace]
  {-options <cmi_options> -context <context-options> | -data
  [info_file]}
  {-enable [true | false]} provider_name
  
  For example,
  
  cleartool mkcmprovider -stream <stream> -context

Local fix

Problem summary

• In the Rational ClearCase Change Management Integration for UCM,
   cleartool setactivity and cleartool mkactivity can fail with a
  segmentation fault if the stream's Change Management Integration
   configuration is missing the "validate" keyword.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available in ClearCase versions 8.0.0.10 and 8.0.1.3
