PM98516: RECEIVE MESSAGE IDC3009I WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DELETE AN UNCATALOGED DATA SET FROM FM PANEL 'DISPLAY VTOC DATA SET LIST'.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• From FM option 3.5, an uncataloged data set is displayed,
  resulting in panel 'Display VTOC Data Set List'.  Prefix
  command DELETE is entered next to the data set desired to
  be deleted.  The delete is terminated and the following
  messages are received:
  
  
   DELETE (MY.UNCAT.DS) PURGE SCRATCH
  IDC3012I ENTRY MY.UNCAT.DS NOT FOUND
  IDC3009I ** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 8 - REASON CODE IS
  IGG0CLEG-42
  IDC0551I ** ENTRY MY.UNCAT.DS NOT DELETED

  command when deleting an uncatalogued data set.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Manager has been modified to generate the correct IDCAMS
  DELETE parameters when deleting an uncatalogued data set.
