Local fix

  • NA

Problem summary

  • This problem is specific to z/OS platform.
When an unsupported encoding is used, its expected to fall back
to the default encoding of the platform.
When "export LC_ALL=Ar_AA.IBM-425" is set, both file.encoding
property and ibm.system.encoding property get set as "IBM-425".
Fallback mechanism implementation sets only the file.encoding to
    Cp1047. ibm.system.encoding still points to 'IBM-425'.
    Hence the failure is noticed.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR6 (z/OS 31-bit)
    7.0.0 SR6 (z/OS 64-bit)
    .
In the fix, we are trying to over come the problem bypassing the
    java.nio.charset.UnsupportedCharsetException exception.

Temporary fix
