The speed of processing slows down * * when HP Image Copy uses HPIO=Y for * * the following database organization: * * - PSINDEX * * - HISAM * * - SHISAM * * - P-Index * * - S-Index * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR fixes the following problems. 1. If the length of HALDB partition name is less than 2 bytes, HP Image Copy terminates with one of the following errors: - Error message DFS310A ( MSGDFS310A ) when Image Copy function is scheduled by the following conditions: - FABJMAIN program - IMS Parallel Reorganization with TYPE=B process of IMS Reorganization Expert - IMS Online Reorganization Facility. - Error message DSP0111I ( MSGDSP0111I ) when Image Copy function is scheduled by IMS compatible JCL - Error message DFS854A ( MSGDFS854A ) when the Recovery function is scheduled by either FABJMAIN program or IMS Compatible JCL. The cause of this problem is that HP Image Copy misinterprets the rule of minimum length of partition name of HALDB. Then HP Image Copy regards the 1 byte partition name as an error. 2. If DDN= keyword or AREA= keyword is omitted on ICEIN control card when HP Image Copy runs under the control of the following IMS Tools, HP Image Copy terminates with error and message FABJ0181E ( MSGFABJ0181E ): This problem occurs under the following conditions: - HP Image Copy is scheduled by one of the following: - IMS Reorganization Expert. - IMS Fast Path Advanced Tool in IMS HP Fast Path Utilities. - IMS Fast Path Online Tool in IMS HP Fast Path Utilities. When HP Image Copy runs under the control of other IMS Tools, a list of target database data set names is passed from parent tool. If ICEIN control statement is specified in the JCL, HP Image Copy compares and merges the process options in the list and ICEIN control statement. The cause of this problem is that HP Image Copy can not merge correctly and makes same database data set name entry in the control block. Then it is regarded as duplicate process request. 3. The speed of processing slows down when HP Image Copy uses HPIO=Y for the following database organization: - PSINDEX - HISAM - SHISAM - P-Index - S-Index HPIO does not use the buffer numbers in DCB or VSAM ACB for I/O, so HP Image Copy sets minimum number of buffer for OPEN process. But HP Image Copy does not use HPIO for VSAM KSDS data set. Even though HP Image Copy sets minimum number of buffer and processes VSAM GET/PUT for KSDS database. HP Image Copy should use optimized buffer number for KSDS always.
