Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 10 and DB2 11 for z/OS users of * * DDF_COMPATIBILITY zparm * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR disables the system parameter * * DDF_COMPATIBILITY if application * * compatibility level is equal to or * * greater than V11R1. * * The IFCID 366 trace record will be * * written with QW0366FN set to 8 if the * * DDF_COMPATIBILITY zparm is set to * * SP_PARMS_NJV to indicate output * * parameters is returned from a stored * * procedure using the corresponding * * CALL statement arguments. * * ("NJV" refers to "non-Java".) * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** For DB2 11, this APAR disables the DDF_COMPATIBILITY system parameter when application compatibility is equal to or greater than V11R1. The DDF_COMPATIBILITY setting is recognized when the application compatibility level is equal to V10R1. The setting is ignored when application compatibility level is equal to or greater than V11R1. This APAR also provides tracing in both DB2 10 and 11 to ensure customers know they are going through a path that depends on the setting of DDF_COMPATIBILITY. The IFCID 366 trace record will include a new value, as follows: A new value of 8 for QW0366FN is created for the IFCID 366 trace records. QW0366FN = 8 A QW0366FN=8 record indicates that DB2 for z/OS server returned output data which matches the data types of the corresponding CALL statement arguments when DDF_COMPATIBILITY zparm is set to SP_PARMS_NJV. Please refer to ++HOLD DOC change for more information. Note: In order to let the customers get consistent application behavior cross DB2 releases, we have also added DB2 10 apar PM86374 changes to DB2 11 in this APAR. Therefore, customers can get the trace IFCID 366 QW0366FN = 7 when they set system parameter DDF_COMPATIBILITY to DISABLE_IMPCAST_NJV. Please refer to ++HOLD ACTION for more information.
