Error description

  • After queue manager was upgraded from WMQ v701 to v710, an SVC
    dump is generated during queue manager start-up. The queue
    manager and CHINIT still came up successfully. The queue
    manager was re-cycled later but it still took an SVC DUMP
    when it was re-started.
    .
    DUMP TITLE=CSQ1,ABN=5C6-00D4002F,U=QT93MSTR,C=R3600.710.CMD -CS
               QNSINF,M=CSQGFRCV,LOC=CSQMLPLM.CSQNSINF+000002E4
    .
    The change team found that the 5C6-00D4002F ABEND issued by
    CSQNSINF occurs when there are commands in the CSQINPT input
    dataset (e.g. ALTER SUB in the customer's case) and the
    queue-manager has command events enabled, but the
    SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.EVENT has not been defined locally.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend 5C6-00D4002F in CSQNSINF occurs *
    * at queue manager startup, and whenever *
    * PSMODE is changed from DISABLED to *
    *                      COMPAT or ENABLED.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    While processing a command (for example DEFINE SUB) from the
    CSQINPT DD, a command event message was generated due to command
    events (CMDEV) being enabled on the queue manager. If the
    command event message cannot be put to
    SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.EVENT (for example, if this queue doesn't
    exist, or is put disabled), CSQNSINF is called to save
    information about the command, so that the event message can be
    generated when the queue is available again.
    CSQNSINF attempts to validate the origin of the command, however
    it does not recognise CSQINPT as a valid origin and issues the
    reported abend.

Problem conclusion

  • CSQNSINF is changed to correctly handle commands that originated
    in CSQINPT.
