APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • You are unable to clear the messages from a shared queue.
Message CSQM101I CSQMRQLC QLOCAL(QUEUE NAME) IS CURRENTLY IN USE
received when attempting to clear the queue.

Local fix

  • While there is another queue manager in the Queue Sharing Group
active, cancel the queue manager that put the messages. The
other queue manager will delete the uncommitted messages as part
    of peer level recovery.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When a MQPUT for a topic which is associated with a shared queue
fails, any previous in-syncpoint MQPUTs/MQGETs do not get
    committed/backed-out as expected.
This creates a build-up of messages on the shared queue and
CSQM101I CSQMRQLC QLOCAL(QUEUE NAME) IS CURRENTLY IN USE
is received when attempting to clear the queue.
When PMSGDLV or NPMSGDLV are set to ALL or ALLDUR a MQPUT will
create a new ETHR and save the old one. But if there is a
failure putting the message the old ETHR is not checked for
any outstanding UOW and so a message may not be backed out
    or committed as expected.

Problem conclusion

  • CSQETHDP has been altered to check the stacked ETHR before
setting the flags to indicate that the resource manager is
not interested in commit/abort broadcasts for the thread.
