PM90196: Unable to login to ClearQuest Web with URL starting with 'http://ccrc'

APAR status

• Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description

• Using a hostname for the IBM Rational ClearQuest Web Server
  starting with 'ccrc' will fail to load the CQ Web login page.
  
  This will be seen when configuring the IBM Rational ClearCase
  integration with ClearQuest by entering a URL in the
  cq-db-mapfile.conf with a URL that begins with either
  'http://ccrc' or 'https://ccrc'.  The error thrown will read:
  CCRC WAN Server: Error: CRMSV4117: Unable to login to
  ClearQuest: user canceled login operation.
  CCRC WAN Server: Error: Unable to obtain user credentials and
  connection information for CQ database 'USRDB'.
  CCRC WAN Server: Error: Could not find web connection
  information for CQ database 'USRDB'.
  UCM Project 'UCMProject' is bound to CQ Database 'USRDB'.
  
  This is similar to APAR PM65832.
  
  Workaround:
  Use an alias or the IP address in the URL rather than the
  hostname beginning with 'ccrc'.Using a hostname for the IBM

Problem conclusion

• After analysis of this APAR, we have determined we won't fix
  this issue due to: low priority/severity, the risk of a fix
  and a straightforward workaround (use an alias or the IP
  address in the URL rather than the hostname beginning with
  'ccrc').
  
  A priority decision has been made that this defect cannot be
  addressed in the next 18 months without neglecting issues of
  higher importance and less risk.  Thank you for your
  understanding.
