Error description

  • While viewing a DB2 table using FM/DB2, and after entering a
    REDIT command, the following message is received:
    
     DSNT408I SQLCODE = -104, ERROR:  ILLEGAL SYMBOL " ". SOME
     SYMBOLS THAT MIGHT BE LEGAL ARE: AND OR HAVING GROUP
     INTERSECT ORDER FETCH EXCEPT MINUS UNION

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of File Manager DB2 component.     *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SQLCODE-104 after issuing REDIT from    *
    *                      an FM/DB2 editor session.  The object   *
    *                      in question has many dependent          *
    *                      relationships.                          *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    An invalid character is included in the SQL statement used to
    extract the relationships, resulting in the SQLCODE-104.  This
    problem only occurs when there are many (>  100) dependent
    relationships.
    

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager DB2 component has been changed to correct the
    problem.
